The York-and-Lancaster variety is an antique Damask rose with a spreading bush 150–180 cm in height and width. The plant is distinguished by semi-double flowers 6–8 cm in diameter with a strong sweet fragrance, which have an unpredictable white, pink, or variegated coloring. The variety is characterized by once-blooming in early summer, high winter hardiness, and disease resistance.

The Yanina variety is a specialized oil-bearing rose created as a result of mutation breeding at the Institute of Rose in Kazanlak. This variety is intended for industrial cultivation for the purpose of producing rose oil and products of its processing.
