ActiveRubus arcticus L. · Arctic raspberry
10 August 2026
The Mespi variety is a selection from natural populations of Rubus arcticus. The plant reaches a height of 10 to 25 cm and has upright stems. The variety is characterized by a mid-season ripening period of berries, which possess a pleasant taste and aroma.
The plant is self-incompatible; therefore, cross-pollination with other varieties is required to obtain a harvest. Mespi is susceptible to the fungal disease P. sparsa. In addition to use as a fruit crop, the variety can be used for decorative purposes, including the creation of borders or container gardening.
