Vinson Peter Edward
10 August 2026
The plant is a perennial subshrub with vigorous arched canes up to 2.5–3 meters long, covered with sharp thorns and a glaucous waxy bloom. The variety does not produce root suckers and propagates mainly by rooting the tips of the shoots.
The berries are round, black with a purple hue and a whitish bloom, weighing 2–8 g. The variety is of mid-season maturity; the berries separate from the receptacle during harvest. The plant is characterized by a high yield of up to 4–7 kg per bush and winter hardiness down to -30°C.
The variety requires trellising due to the shape of the bush. The fruits are distinguished by their firmness, good transportability, and are suitable for fresh consumption or processing. The variety shows general resistance to diseases but is susceptible to viral infections.
