The variety Frosta is included in the Norwegian official variety list under number 499. In scientific literature, it is mentioned among other Norwegian varieties, such as Varnes, Stiora, Nitro, and Borgund.

Results of testing in pot culture showed that the variety is highly susceptible to root rot caused by Phytophthora fragariae var. rubi and does not possess pronounced resistance to this pathogen. Research on the fruit quality of the variety Frosta was conducted in comparison with the varieties Algonquin, Glen Ample, Tambar, Tea, Tulameen, and Veten.
