The KWS Esthor variety (breeding number KWS-H249) is a winter rye hybrid. Modern breeding technologies were used in its creation, aimed at ensuring high yield, winter hardiness, lodging resistance, and drought tolerance.

The PollenPlus technology used in KWS hybrids provides increased resistance to ergot infection. The grain of this variety is used in baking, malting, and as livestock feed.
