The variety is used in crop rotations as an intermediate crop for suppressing populations of beet cyst nematode (Heterodera schachtii) before sowing sugar beet. The effectiveness of the variety as a trap crop lies in its ability to significantly reduce the number of nematodes in the soil when the green mass is incorporated in the autumn period.

The name «Ultimo» may also refer to oil radish varieties, but in official catalogs, the variety is clearly classified as white mustard. Detailed morphological traits and agronomic characteristics of the variety are not presented in open sources.
