The variety is the result of a program to improve traditional tomatoes, in particular the "Muchamiel" type, and is genetically classified as Solanum lycopersicum L. The plant belongs to the pear-shaped type known as "Pera moruno".

The line is characterized by homozygosity for the Tm-2a resistance genes to tomato mosaic virus and Sw-5 to tomato spotted wilt virus. During the studies, it was noted that the introduction of resistance genes may affect yield and fruit acidity compared to the original forms.
