The UMH 1353 line is a breeding material developed to increase resistance to Tomato mosaic virus (ToMV) and Tomato spotted wilt virus (TSWV). It is a pear-shaped 'De la Pera' type tomato intended for cultivation in regions with a high risk of viral infections.

During studies, the line demonstrated marketable yield indicators of 4.21 to 5.73 kg of fruit per plant, exceeding the productivity of a number of previous experimental lines. This line is used primarily as an intermediate material for breeding and the preservation of genetic diversity.
