Variety description

10 August 2026

The variety UMH 1155 is the result of a breeding program aimed at preserving biodiversity and introducing disease resistance genes into local traditional tomato varieties. The line is classified as a hybrid and belongs to the De la pera type of pear-shaped tomatoes.

Genes for resistance to a number of viral pathogens were introduced into the genetic profile of the line; however, the variety does not possess resistance to Tomato yellow leaf curl virus (TYLCV). The technical documentation contains letter designations for the status of resistance genes to other viral diseases, while specific morphological indicators of the plant are not detailed in open sources.
