The variety is a local type adapted to the soil and climatic conditions of the Campo de Calatrava region. It forms the basis for the production of the protected geographical product Berenjena de Almagro.
Fruits are small, up to 4.5 cm in diameter, characterized by a variety of shapes and colors. The variety is early maturing, with the harvest taking place from July to September.
Plants are intended for specific culinary processing by boiling, fermentation, and pickling with the addition of spices, oil, and vinegar. Agricultural practices involve a planting density of approximately 25,000 plants per hectare.
