In international breeding, «Ausonia» is known as a genetic line used as a parent form for creating other potato varieties. Professional registers contain no data on it as an independent variety for commercial production.
In Russian-language amateur seed production, a hybrid population characterized by plant heterogeneity is presented under the name «Аусония». The tubers of this potato are light yellow, round-oval or elongated-oval in shape with superficial eyes. The flesh is light yellow, does not darken during culinary processing, and the plant itself is stated to be resistant to the golden potato cyst nematode.
