The Belita variety is a specialized breeding variety, known in scientific literature as one of the control varieties for determining pathotypes of the fungus Synchytrium endobioticum, which causes potato wart. The variety was obtained as a result of crossing lines AM 66-148 and VTN 62-33-3.
The main agronomic trait of the variety is its proven resistance to a number of potato wart pathotypes. Public sources contain no information regarding the commercial characteristics of the plant, such as maturity group, plant habit, or morphological description of the tubers, as the variety is not intended for widespread commercial cultivation.
