The Borralla Rosada variety is a traditional variety grown in the mountain regions of Anaga and Teno on the island of Tenerife. In some sources, its origin is linked to the hybridization of Solanum tuberosum and Solanum stenotomum.
The tubers have an elongated shape with deep eyes and a characteristic pink skin tone. In terms of culinary qualities, the variety is valued for its floury and creamy texture, suitable for traditional local dishes.
Under the conditions of the Canary Islands, potato planting is carried out in February-March, and harvesting is conducted in the period from June to July.
