The variety was bred in the USA from the hybrid combination NY121 × NY115. Tubers have smooth white or buff skin, shallow eyes, and a high specific gravity, which gives the flesh a floury texture. The variety is suitable for processing into chips, maintaining quality characteristics during cold storage.
The plant possesses high resistance to the golden potato cyst nematode (Globodera rostochiensis) races Ro1 and Ro2. Partial resistance to the pale potato cyst nematode (Globodera pallida) pathotype Pa2/3 has also been noted.
The variety is listed in the national registry — its seeds are authorized for sale in this country.
