The variety was obtained as a result of breeding work by the company Svalöf AB. Its genetic origin is based on crossing the Octavia and Maris Piper varieties.
The variety possesses good indicators for abrasive mechanical peeling and is suitable for culinary use. In studies from the late 1990s in Sweden, a decrease in the variety's resistance to late blight Phytophthora infestans was observed, associated with changes in the pathogen population.
