The tubers are oblong and slightly flattened in shape. The skin is pink with orange or brown spots, sometimes with a bluish tint. The flesh is cream-colored, sometimes with pink or purple rings. The eyes are located in the upper part of the tuber and are slightly slanted; the sprouts are purple with white tips.
The variety is a traditional culinary plant used for preparing the dish papas arrugadas. Cultivation is carried out under specific agro-climatic conditions, predominantly in volcanic soils at an altitude of about 1200 meters above sea level.
