The Primel variety was bred by breeder R. Diehl. Agronomic databases also mention other potato varieties with a similar name, in particular a German version from 1898 (a cross of Early Sunrise and Erste von Frömsdorf) and a variety entered into the EU catalogue in 1985 (a cross of Edzina and Cado).
More detailed modern agronomic indicators, such as plant height, maturity group, or disease resistance, for this French potato variety are absent in open sources.
