The variety was bred as a result of controlled pollination of the parent lines Planta and Concurrent. Seeds were sown in 1988, and clonal propagation began in 1989 in Emmeloord (Netherlands). During the breeding process, the variety had the working name YP88-056.
Detailed morphological characteristics and yield data for the variety are not published in open official sources. In agronomic literature, the name may be mistakenly identified with the characteristic of ultra-early potato varieties in general.
