Variety description

10 August 2026

The variety belongs to the very early or early category. The plant is characterized by a semi-erect growth habit and has white flowers and pink sprouts. Tubers are large, oval or elongated in shape with smooth white or yellowish skin and red eyes. Tuber flesh is white; starch and dry matter content are low.

The potato is immune to wart (race 1) and possesses high resistance to late blight of foliage, common scab, and powdery scab. The variety is susceptible to viruses X and Y, as well as to gangrene. Tubers are prone to mechanical damage, darkening, and the formation of internal hollows.

The variety has local names: Cheshire Potatoes and Ormskirk Potatoes. It is suitable for boiling and baking but is considered unsuitable for industrial processing into chips or French fries.
