The variety is an ancient landrace known since 1720 and common in Dalarna province. The plant is characterized as rather tall and sparse, with generally weak flowering. The tubers are round in shape with fairly deep eyes and a recessed stolon end.
The potato is distinguished by a high dry matter content. The variety is resistant to common scab, Fusarium, as well as tobacco rattle virus and mop-top virus, but is susceptible to late blight and potato virus Y.
