The plant of the variety is tall, compact, and dense, with thick stems and red-violet flowers with white tips. The tubers have a round or oval shape, smooth light-yellow skin, and few superficial eyes.
The variety belongs to the main crop group with a maturity period of 125–140 days. It possesses high tolerance to heat and drought and requires moderate application of nitrogen fertilizers. The cream-colored flesh has a floury texture, is suitable for boiling, mashing, and baking, and also features good keeping quality during storage.
Valor possesses high resistance to the golden potato cyst nematode, and is moderately resistant to late blight, common scab, blackleg, and leaf roll. At the same time, the variety exhibits sensitivity to potato virus Y.
