The Violetta variety, bred by Karsten Ellenberg, is distinguished by the blue-violet color of its skin and flesh. The plant forms tall bushes with flowers of a corresponding shade. The tubers have an elongated shape.

The variety shows relative resistance to Fusarium wilt. Resistance to mechanical damage and potato leafroll virus is assessed as moderate, while the variety is susceptible to late blight of tubers and nematodes.
