The hybrid was obtained by crossing Sorghum bicolor (L.) Moench and Sorghum sudanense (Piper) Stapf. In agronomic references and EU catalogs, the variety is classified as a forage crop intended for the production of green fodder, hay, or silage.

In official UPOV technical questionnaires, the variety is used as a reference sample for the description of specific morphological characteristics. In particular, the leaf midrib of this hybrid is characterized as yellowish-white.
