Variety description

The variety is a shrub or small tree with a spreading rounded crown, reaching 3–4 meters in height and 2.5–4 meters in width. Leaves are cordate-ovate. The origin of the variety is linked to breeding from the variety Masséna.

Flowers are single, medium-sized, with broad rounded petals of violet-purple color; buds are dark purple. Inflorescences are large, erect, and multi-tipped. Flowering is late and profuse, lasting 2–3 weeks in mid-to-late spring.

The variety has high winter hardiness, corresponding to USDA zone 4, and withstands temperatures below -29 °C. It is recommended for use as a specimen plant, in group plantings, and for creating decorative compositions. It has the synonyms KL 28 and Mikołaj Kopernik.
