The variety is an evergreen shrub or small tree with a dense, slender pyramidal or conical shape. The plant has soft, scale-like needles, the color of which changes from bright golden in spring to greenish with a golden hue in summer and rich orange-golden as temperatures drop in autumn.

The plant has a moderate growth rate and reaches a height of 2.5–5 meters with a width of 1–2 meters at maturity. The root system is superficial and densely branched. The variety is winter-hardy, withstands frosts down to -29°C, is resistant to heat stress, and is relatively resistant to deer browsing.

Used as a specimen plant, for creating hedges, and for container gardening. It tolerates pruning well and prefers sunny or semi-shaded areas and moist, fertile soils. It consistently maintains its needle color without being prone to sunburn.
