The variety is a synthetic population derived from nine clones. The plant has thin stems and belongs to the prostrate, creeping types of alsike clover. In the absence of mowing, stems can reach 60–120 cm.
The variety is distinguished by increased winter hardiness and moderate resistance to mosaic virus. Due to its thin stems, it is prone to lodging when grown in pure stands. It is best adapted to moist and acidic soils.
It is used in forage mixtures for hayfields and pastures, as well as a nitrogen-fixing crop for improving soil fertility and as a green manure.
