The Ermo variety is a diploid perennial rhizomatous plant with an intermediate type of spring growth and flowering development. The main volume of green mass is formed in the first cut.

The plant is well adapted to unfavorable conditions, including moist, waterlogged, and acidic soils, where other clover species perform poorly. The variety possesses high winter hardiness and resistance to trampling; however, it has lower drought tolerance due to its shallow root system.

The variety is used for hay and silage production, as well as in short-term and long-term grass mixtures with grasses such as timothy grass and meadow fescue. It is also used as a green manure, for undersowing in cereal crops, on green fallow, and for creating pastures for wildlife.
