The variety is characterized by a medium degree of stem pubescence, corresponding to index 5 on the UPOV scale. Intended for forage use.

The plant possesses resistance to northern anthracnose and moderate resistance to powdery mildew. The variety was also tested for susceptibility to blackpatch, caused by the fungus Rhizoctonia leguminicola.

This variety has been used in comparative trials and genetic research, including work on polyploidy and tissue culture.
