The variety is diploid (2n) and was bred as a result of selection from Austrian local populations. It belongs to the early-maturing group and is characterized by high nutritional value due to its high protein content and optimal leaf-to-stem ratio.

The plant possesses good winter hardiness and the ability to regrow quickly after mowing, which allows for up to four cuts per season. The variety is distinguished by good seed productivity and is suitable for use in grass mixtures, as well as a green manure crop to improve soil fertility.
