The plant is characterized by high leafiness and intensive vegetative development. In terms of biology, it is a perennial legume with a utilization cycle of up to three years, reaching maximum productivity in the second year of life. In the European classification, the variety is classified as diploid (D).

The variety is adapted to the climatic conditions of Italy, showing the best yield performance when grown in cool lowland regions. The crop is used for haymaking, silage, or livestock grazing, applied both in pure form and as part of forage mixtures.
