The variety is a substituted type of triticale, in which some rye chromosomes have been replaced by wheat chromosomes in the genome. The crop belongs to spring varieties and was developed primarily for forage production, including hay, silage, and pasture use.

The variety demonstrated high growth vigor, adaptability to various climatic conditions, including arid and high-altitude zones, as well as tolerance to soil salinity. In modern scientific research, YOREME is often used as a reference sample for comparing the amino acid composition of protein and the starch properties of substituted triticale types.
