The Aiges variety is the result of breeding work carried out in Greece. Genetically, the variety is related to breeding material G-38290/YG-3297, which has ties to the international center CIMMYT.
Under field conditions, the yield of the variety is subject to fluctuations depending on the amount of precipitation, seeding rate, and weed infestation levels. Weed control has a positive effect on the baking quality indicators of the grain, such as protein content and sedimentation test results.
