The Apian variety belongs to the winter soft wheat crop. As part of variety trials, heading and maturity dates were evaluated, as well as plant stem height.
The variety possesses indicators of resistance to lodging and a number of cereal diseases, including powdery mildew, leaf rust, yellow rust, Fusarium head blight, and eyespot. Yield trials were conducted at various levels of intensity and grain quality indicators were evaluated.
