The variety belongs to the winter wheat type. In the British classification of feed varieties, it is assigned to the feed wheat group intended for use as fodder rather than for baking.

The variety is susceptible to the wheat Septoria tritici blotch pathogen Mycosphaerella graminicola. Studies were conducted on the grain composition of this variety, in particular the mass distribution between the endosperm and the bran.
