The variety is a winter wheat. In scientific research dedicated to studying root system architecture, it was revealed that Ceylon possesses specific nodal root angles, as well as a smaller number of seminal roots compared to a number of other varieties.
During the assessment of the phytosanitary state in Latvian studies, the susceptibility of this variety during the juvenile development period to races of yellow rust Puccinia striiformis, including the «Warrior» and «Warrior-» races, was noted.
