The Farneto variety is widely known in scientific literature as a subject for experiments on anther culture and in vitro plant regeneration methods. Studies show that this variety possesses high regeneration efficiency, even in the absence of specific genome translocations.
During laboratory tests for resistance to stress factors, the variety was classified as one of the most tolerant to drought and heat among the studied samples of common wheat.
