The wheat variety Fastnet was created by the breeding company KWS UK Ltd. In scientific publications of the early 2000s, it was mentioned in the context of research on resistance to yellow rust. To date, this variety is not included in modern recommended lists of wheat varieties for agronomic use.
It is important to distinguish this wheat variety from the modern winter barley variety SY Fastnet, which is a separate crop and does not belong to soft wheat.
