The modern winter soft feed wheat variety Flamingo is characterized by a stiff stem, ensuring resistance to lodging. It is distinguished by high growth vigor and good adaptability to diverse soil conditions, including light soils.
The plant exhibits high resistance to leaf blotch, while its susceptibility to phoma and stem rot is noted. The variety's grain has a specific weight of about 76–77 kg/hl. Historically, the name was also encountered in European studies of the 1960s devoted to the baking qualities of wheat.
