The variety is represented by the Fram I and Fram II lines, which are classified as landrace or historical. Currently, the variety is preserved primarily in genetic collections, such as NordGen, and is used in scientific research on the history of breeding and genetic diversity.
Grain quality studies show that Fram contains specific proteins, such as amylase-trypsin inhibitors, and is distinguished by increased levels of antioxidants (tocochromanols). Detailed agronomic characteristics, such as plant height or yield indicators, are absent in open sources due to the non-commercial status of the variety.
