The GK Deva variety belongs to winter soft wheat. Its breeding was carried out using the doubled haploid method, which is used for the accelerated production of homozygous lines.

This variety is the result of a scientific breeding program aimed at creating high-yielding and resistant forms of wheat. Literature emphasizes the necessity to distinguish this Hungarian variety from the Indian variety with the similar name Deva.
