The variety is a historical breeding standard of the Hungarian research center Gabonakutató. It is actively used in programs for the study of breeding, physiology, and biochemistry of cereals, and is also included in the pedigree of a number of modern wheat varieties.
Morphological studies of the variety include a detailed analysis of the structure of the flag and second leaves, in particular the mesophyll, the number of stomata and trichomes. The variety is characterized by a studied grain quality profile, including water absorption indicators and protein content.
In scientific literature, the variety is widely known as an object for comparative stress tolerance tests, in particular to the effects of aluminum. It is not considered a variety for mass commercial production, acting as material for agronomic research and control.
