The Mireete variety is characterized as early-maturing and possesses high grain quality. In the scientific community, it is used as a reference genotype when studying gluten properties and the allelic composition of proteins, including high-molecular-weight glutenins.

During the breeding of the variety, methods of classical genetics, molecular mapping, and cellular technologies were used to transfer disease resistance traits, such as powdery mildew, from wheat relatives. The variety is suitable for various cultivation conditions, including organic farming.
