The Monty variety was introduced as a result of the Syngenta breeding program and underwent trials for inclusion in the UK Recommended List in 2007–2008. It belonged to wheat group 4, intended for feed purposes.
Plants of this variety are characterized by a relatively tall stem with good resistance to lodging. Due to the shift of breeding lines toward more modern hybrids, current data on yield and grain quality indicators for this variety are not provided.
