The soft winter wheat variety Novokyivs`ka is a product of breeding by the Institute of Plant Physiology and Genetics of the NAS of Ukraine and the V. M. Remeslo Myronivka Institute of Wheat of the NAAS of Ukraine. Genetic studies confirm the presence of a 1BL/1RS translocation in the variety's genome.
The plant belongs to the mid-season group. In terms of intended use, the variety is for grain production. In official registers, the variety is characterized as weak-strength in terms of grain quality indicators.
