The variety was obtained by selection from segregating material after crossing the inbred line 00ST124 and the variety Sankara. The breeding process was focused on increasing productivity and grain quality.
During the development of the variety, resistance to eyespot, as well as to wheat mosaic virus and wheat streak mosaic virus, was taken into account.
