The variety is a spring wheat bred by the Swedish company Weibull. Its genealogy includes the Svenno and Ring varieties.
The wheat is characterized by high milling qualities and excellent baking properties, which distinguished it from other varieties during the mid-20th-century breeding period.
In studies of genetic diversity, the variety is considered in the context of examining resistance to powdery mildew. The presence of specific resistance genes is noted, including combinations of Pm1, Pm2, and Pm9.
