The variety was obtained by the method of individual selection from the hybrid combination B.st. «1914988» x «WW 27314». The plant belongs to the winter wheat type and is intended for cultivation in the conditions of Lithuania.

The variety possesses good grain baking qualities. In terms of winter hardiness, Tauras DS is characterized as less resistant to overwintering conditions compared to the Ada variety.
