The Yoana variety belongs to soft winter wheat and is characterized as short-stemmed, possessing one of the shortest straws among the studied varieties. The plant was created by the gamma-irradiation of seeds of the "Победа" variety.

The variety possesses high yield stability and is recognized as one of the most adaptable to environmental factors. Studies classify it as drought-tolerant, while it shows no specific sensitivity or immunity to Fusarium head blight.
