The variety is native to the province of Trapani. The plants are tall, reaching a height of about 120 cm. The variety is mid-season, with a ripening period of 125–130 days after sowing.

The spike is dense, oblong, with an average length of about 7 cm, with white glumes with yellowish shades. The grain is oval or elliptical in shape, vitreous, amber or reddish in color, 7–8 mm long. The variety prefers deep, nutrient-rich soils.

The yield of the variety is characterized as average, amounting to about 11 c/ha. The grain is processed into flour, which is valued for the specific taste and aromatic properties characteristic of ancient wheat varieties.
