The Zagorka variety is used in Bulgarian scientific research and agronomic trials, particularly on leached brown soils. The primary purpose of the crop is to obtain raw materials for the pasta industry.

The grain is characterized by a high crude protein content and a good gluten yield. The variety shows resistance to isoproturon-based herbicides when applied during the period from sowing to emergence, however, the use of the preparation "Banvel K" is not recommended for it.
